I had all these United vouchers that were going to expire so, off I go again. The Alamo $10 per day rental works great for the trip to SAV.
My original outbound was SAV-IAD-SFO-SEA. Savannah often cancels the early flight in the winter to Washington and it happened again this year so freezing cold Chicago here I come again. And then a non stop on to Seattle where I arrive about noon. My return makes a lot more sense with the routing of SEA-SFO-EWR (redeye)-IAD-SAV. I’ll be at about 10K in Elite Qualifying miles, with another 10K coming next week with our trip to Hawaii and 2500 of carry over EQM’s from last years promo, I’ll hit the first tier for 2009 with United. I hope they make it til the end of the year. The loss was staggering.
I’ve got 6 hours in Seattle and will probably take the 184 or 194 express bus downtown for a couple hours at the market. It will still be busy and the people watching is great. If there are any Seattle readers that want to meet for a late lunch, drop me an email.
Continental Checking Promotion Gives Me a Surprise
Last year I had to fight like a madman for my miles. It took months and letters to the President of Chase.
This year the miles for the checking account portion of the promotion posted before any of my three required direct deposits even went through. So I have a quick 10K bump in my CO account and the debit card hasn’t even arrived yet. That first purchase will be worth another 11K. The promotion is still available and the blog archives have the information.
