With the new wording on the order page at the US Mint, I am going to call my credit card companies for my SPG card and Citi American Airlines cards and have them reduce the cash advance limit to $0.00. I’ll then make two small orders to see what happens. They will then have to cancel the orders instead of charging me a cash equivalent fee. If the order is fulfilled, I’m in the clear. Let the bank and Amex deal with the Mint.
Another possible scenario to mix things up a bit, is to purchase some other type of coin that the Mint will definetly code as a purchase. Find a cheap single coin for $3 or $4 that they have for sale.
Or maybe we should all switch to our points earning debit cards??????? Suntrust Delta, Citi AA and others
If it took these guys 1.5 years + to figure this out, we may be able to buy a few more months that way.

United Drops the Cost of Red Carpet Club Membership to 1Ks
As further evidence of the soft economy United will now sell single one year memberships to 1K members for $325 or 40,000 UA miles.
It was just last year they raised the price. I guess the price hike just didn’t hold.
