This is about as confusing as it gets.

Some report their points not posting on the SPG card and the Amex MR cards. Others say they are.

Some people are having their orders cancel. Others are not.

The Mint is sending emails to some telling them the Native American coins are available, and on the website it says:

“The immediate bank deposit of $1 coins through this program does not result in their introduction into circulation and, therefore, does not comply with the intended purpose of the Program”

Here is what I know for sure: YMMV or Your Mileage May Vary

Your order may be cancelled or it may be accepted.

You may be able to buy Amex gift cards, earn your points, and then use the gift cards for the Mint purchases. Or maybe not?

Your order may or may not earn miles or points.

Sorry to be so vague, but these guys are less definitive than Citicards. I personally am out of the Mint game until I get back from New Zealand and my next SPG statement posts on January 7th.

I heard that Citicards AA miles are posting, but YMMV.

I understand that you can order 20 boxes of the Native Americans, maybe.

Can you guys straighten this out by the time I get back please? I’ll be applying for multiple cards in late January using my new/old technique and may need this for the minimum spend requirements of those cards. If the Mint is not cooperating, my day to day spend will get me through the minimums.

Hawaii Fare War Brewing

According to a new thread on Flyertalk, American Airlines has filed a $490 roundtrip fare including taxes, good year round from ATL, DTW, MEM, PHX and MSP to HNL, KOA, OGG and LIH.

This is obviously a shot across the bow at Delta and the old Northwest hubs. With the rate good into the out islands as well, you’ll save that connection flight price.

As of beddie bye time, 9 PM Wednesday Eastern time, there have been no matches. Look for Delta and Northwest to counter with fares from Dallas, Chicago and maybe a New York airport.

And maybe, we’ll see United and Continental get in the mix as well.

I met the spend on my Chase/British card in anticipation of the closing being the 13th of the month. Seems I misheard them and that is the day my payment is due. The statement actually closes on the 20th so I’m still waiting for my 100K BA miles.

It is Nice to Be Moved In

Finally settled down in our new place. Life shifts to customer service reps for the phone company, cable TV, electric company, US mail and that stuff. I’d like to see the ocean again. It is one block away.
