We didn't get shorted. My wife and I both got the 10K bonus for the business card.

I signed up for the personal card and then a couple weeks later the business card. However, I completed the minimum spend on the business card first. After completing the business card minimum spend, I received 40,000 bonus points (20k New Member Spend Bonus, 10k New Member Bonus, and 10k 1st Purchase Open). A couple weeks later, I completed the minimum spend on my personal card and only received 20,000 bonus points (New Member Spend Bonus). I expected 60k in total and that's what I got. I haven't read the FlyerTalk thread recently, but last I did, it sounded like other people had similar situations.

I got my 30k on the same day for my personal card but my 20k and 10k were 11 days apart on my SPG business card (See below). I thought that they were only going to give me 20k too, so don't give up hope.

I also got only 20k, but I've only spent $900 or so. Called up both SPG and Amex, and they started the research on their side. Neither told me that the bonus amount was reduced because I've already had another biz card opened back in May '10.

I was shorted as well. 20k deposited into account, but I signed up (and remember specifically reading 30k on the offer).

Thanks for the heads up – I also noticed only 20k instead of 30k posting for my business card. A quick message sent through the Message Center quickly added the 10k points to my account within 2 hours.

I received the bonus points in two increments of 20K + 10K for each card. A total of 60K!

For those of you getting the biz card, are those points posting after the $1000 spend is hit, or after payment of that statement? What's the timing there?

Happened to talk to SPG yesterday to confirm the spending threshold to get the 30K bonus ($1000). They also told me that in some cases SPG was awarding the bonus in multiple amounts (eg 20K then 10K).

FYI: think there is a note on one of the SPG boards to not be surprised that they are posting in 10K and 20K increments.

There might be general trouble with the system lately. I signed up for the 25K card a month before the 30K offer came out, but I had trouble getting my last 15K even after I met the spend within the first two months. A call to Amex eventually yielded the missing points.

More evidence that there's balance in the universe: my wife snared 70k on this, 40 from her business card, and 30 from her personal… Our offer was the 30k each account.

Software bug? Providence? Either way we're not complaining, we'll take the xtra 10k!

I also signed up for the 30k sign-up for the personal card and I reached the 1k spend 6 weeks ago and 2 statements ago and still have not rec'd any single bonus pt. How quickly do they typically post? Contacted through secure mail and they are saying 2 to 3 months from reaching the threshold…

Had 6 family members sign up. All bought AmEx $1,000 gift cards (it worked for the Chase BA promo). But we're having exactly the opposite problem I expected.

I thought the AmEx gift cards wouldn't post points, but would count for minimum spend. But we have all received 1,000 SPG points, but no bonuses yet. (We all signed up early August). Our first statements have posted with the $1,000 spend, and 1,000 points, but still no bonus.

Reading flyertalk, it seems that most bonuses have posted. Do you think we need to spend $1,000 more or just be patient?
