I Have Evidence that Credit is Easing

When the credit crunch hit last fall the credit card lenders began retracting credit card offers through affiliate marketing sites (the places I get my ad links from).

About one month ago I was approached as a possible candidate for offering all the Chase credit card products as an affiliate. That was a c lear sign that Chase was looking for more advertising sources.

About two weeks ago, you may recall that I added the Delta Amex Gold card to my list of cards advertised as they wanted me on board to market their product. I added the ad link.

Last week Chase came back to me and offered me links for the Continental Airlines OnePass Plus card which I now have on the site.

These additions clearly indicate to me that the card lenders are looking for more customers, but quality customers I’m sure. We saw denials for the SPG card during their big promotion in July for scores in the 680-699 range.

And as I predicted months ago the BIG sign up offers are continuing. Expect to see more BIG offers in the near future. Keep your credit score high and only pick the best offers.

HaHa. Finally got a comment out of me. Thanks for this post, ingy. I had a similar experience trying to get the personal card. First they wanted to talk to me on the phone. Then it was suppose to be two weeks. At the end of that time they sent a form letter asking for alot of documentation. This from a company that has been sending me preapproved invitations all through the recent Recession! Maybe some sort of conflict of interest between Citi and AA? I'm sending a letter to AA asking them to consider a credit card through Chase. Since my app had not been denied, I phoned them and we agreed to "withdraw" my app, incase I ever wanted to apply for a different Citi card.
Good luck to Citi, myself, and all during the "double-dip".

Come on, you are giving up 75k and a "denial" in your record so easy? I would understand for 25k or 35k miles but at 75k miles (or 100k)I would certainly fight this:-)

I'd say give them one more phone call, stay as calm as you can, even be charming. Explain to them in detail all you've sent in, and maybe you'll catch a good rep.

I've found in other situations that if you get the right rep, and they see all you've done to accommodate, sometimes they can push things through.

one thing that has messed me up with citibank in the past is that whenever they ask for additional info you actually have to send all of the original info plus the new stuff they want. they don't retain anything, so if you sent A, B, and C, but they also want D and E, your follow up has to include A through E, not just D-E cause they threw out your ABC once they decided it wasn't complete. not sure if that was your issue here, but i went through that exact process a while back.

I'm a newbie at this mileage stuff but I saw this 75,000 and 100,000 mile bonus and I applied. I was denied and had the info resubmitted, denied again. I have a credit score of 771.

I'm going to buy your book for the tips.

hey rick did you try the personal visa or amex even with all your old cards? it seems some are getting it.
