I got an email today offering me a limited time offer for 40K and two hours later a reader sent me this link for 45,000 miles with Delta. This in NOT one of my links, but a much better offer than what my ads are, so use this one if you need a few more Skypesos before the year is out.

I wish these card guys with have the same links and offers for their cards with everybody. Always take the biggest and best offer.They are looking for more business and the offers keep getting bigger. We will see the world at prices we all can afford.

Your blog is great the way it is, your my first read of the day even before cnbc. You have offered so much information to us, the individual just needs to know what their goal is and choose their offer wisely. My personnel opinion is to try and get miles to fly free and chase, sun trust, Amex, and citi will help me achieve this.

I qualify as "young and with very limited credit." My credit history is limited, but without blemishes. But honestly, most of the deals that I've seen haven't appealed to me (even if I could be approved) – I don't spend enough to warrant an annual fee. What I'd like to do now it to start accumulating some miles, even on my small budget. So my question is – what would be the best card (ideally without an annual fee) and airline (One where I don't have to worry about my miles expiring, because I wager it will take me a while to save up) for me to start with?

HaHa. I also think that this blog is great. And I agree with the above poster that each individual needs to study the information and come to an understanding of what their own personal goal is, and then choose their offers wisely.
I am a senior citizen, still working. Over the years, I have already bumbled my way to a good solid credit file. Churning would be more interesting to me if I was younger and had less income. Currently, what interests me are co-branded credit cards; otherwise I would probably never have to apply for another credit card in my lifetime.
I would love to see Ingy's series on starting a good credit file. But I would hope it would become a "sticky" on the front page of the blog.

As a young reader that is on your site first thing every day, I want to say I'll read anything you read — but would love to see some thoughts dedicated towards those of us starting up.

I'm constantly trying to get my retired mother to take advantage of all the CC deals that I can't!

Happily, I was able to get the targeted UA50k this past Summer, and early next year I'll go for the AA75k. Unfortunately I have to forego all the 'small potatoes' 25k offer – as I want to make sure to keep building my credit before I plunge into the world of a mortgage.

Who cares if you get the referrals…If people have a problem with that, no one is putting a gun to their head to come to this site…I would honestly like to see even more ads for credit cards and great offers. I usually click on the offers from THIS page anyways, so keep up the great effort.

I'm 30, married, own a house and have no debt. I have a couple of credit cards 8k and 5k limit which I rarely spend more than 2k on and pay off every month.

I've never explored the whole avenue you take on miles. How long do you keep these cards after you apply for them? Is there a post somewhere out there on getting started and what timeline and line of reasoning you use when doing this?

While I (fortunately for me as I’ve been able to secure a few good sign up bonuses) have good credit I know a few of my friends – who are my age – do not have much credit or credit history. To that end I would love to see a multi part post on the topic I could point them to in order to help them get started!

While I'm young (28), I have a pretty good credit history and a great credit score. My sister, however, has very little credit and has only had a card that was given to her by my father. I'd be interested in reading your posts for the young and creditless.

Thanks for the great blog! Please do the tips special on building credit for those starting out. My wife just moved to the States and has a new SSn so no banks will extend more than $1,000 credit making it near impossible to meet some of the minimum spends. Thanks!

I'm one of the young readers of your blog that is worried about making an already bad credit score, worse. My credit score took a beating as a result of poor choices straight out of college. Now all I pay are student loans and have worked hard to get my score up to the average range. Any tips on good ways to build up credit and/or which offers may be the most beneficial to our demographic would be appreciated. Thanks for all the tips!

Instead of promoting a good Southwest offer–even after it was brought to your attention before–you still have a pointer to the much worse offer. This a way to lose credibility

With the deadline approaching i thought i was out of luck doing this. BUT, I called yesterday, the amex folks upgraded me to the Plat card. I used the mileage advance feature to borrow 50K membership reward miles. On the same call, the transferred 50K into delta.. it showed up immediately in my delta account. Today the 25K bonus appeared along with 25K MQMs. SO – - you can still pull this off on 12/13 or 12/14.

I believe I qualify as young with limited credit (history). I am 23, with oldest credit card history at about 4 years. I have around 7 credit cards and 2 store charge cards open as I read that mix of those can boost credit score. I have score of around 750 right now, with no negatives except for short history. I have participated in the recent AA 75K offer and got 150k miles from that. I also opened the Chase/Continental checking account last week, along with applying for the Chase/Continental credit card. Kris at HHI just opened SunTrust Delta accounts for me too! I am definitely interested in knowing how I can keep participating in these offers and still keep my credit score up.

I'd LOVE to hear your thoughts on improving credit scores for young people.

I'm in my late 20s, but always used debit cards instead of credit cards until a year or two ago, so my credit's pretty limited.

I recently checked my credit scores on one of the links on your sidebar, and came up pretty good, considering my short history. (No dings on my record, either.)

But I also recently applied for the SPG card and got rejected. I'll try to get them to reconsider, but I'm bummed to find out that I might not get this awesome card for a while.

Fortunately, I was accepted for the two personal 75k AA Citi cards before the minimum spend went up, so at least I'll be earning miles on what I spend now.

I'm new to this whole travel hacking thing, but I understand that starting everything off by earning 150k AA miles is about as good a start as you can get.

Thanks for your help and advice, and I hope there's enough demand for "credit-raising 101 for young people" to help me snag that SPG card after all!

Rick, I strongly recommend you proceed with caution in getting your young readers involved in app-o-rama, especially college students and young workers. While you and I and all of us long time churners pay off our cards religously every month, only an extreme minority of credit card users have the discipline to do this, and young adults get into lots of trouble with credit.

Being both "young" and a fresh immigrant, I'd be very interested in hearing about establishing myself in this whole credit business. This is something that doesn't seem to play much of a role back in my country so this is all relatively new to me.

I have a friend who came to the US less than a year ago for work. He has a great job and a lot of savings, but no credit history here. I've told him about your site, but he's a long way from the credit score he needs for these deals. Would be very interested in a post about building credit.

Hi, I was drawn to your blog through Gizmodo because I was interested in learning how to preserve my credit score when repeatedly applying for new credit cards. Do you have any insight into the effect of churning cards? Or, if you have written about this before, can you point me in the right direction?

Rick the point isn't that you plug credit cards at all, that's great – the point is that you should not plug ones that are a mediocre deal, just because you get referrals. The Amex Platinum has been pushed repeatedly – five times? – on your blog, and its *not* an especially good deal i.m.h.o. at the $450 annual fee. You can often get close to that sign up bonus with free or minimal fees. Amex Gold Business Card gives you the same miles with ZERO first year fee, assuming you meet their $10,000 spend, – that to me is a better deal, 50k miles for zero $. But you don't push it anywhere near the same amount as the platinum personal one with its huge $450 fee – why not – is their no referral for you?

Please don't misunderstand my tone – I love and support your blog, its great and very useful – but remember we are all savvy bargain hunters out here, and don't wish to have cards promoted repeatedly that are not particularly good deals for us, but are good deals for someone else…

Narkin: And it is YOUR humble opinion. Mine is, if somebody is going to buy lounge access anyway, I think it is a fantastic deal to pick up 50,000 FREE MR points and $200 in incidental fees, for NOTHING if you were going to spend the money for lounge access anyway. Why not? But to each his own I guess.
