Bank of America and the US Mint Talk to One Another

Chris advised me with two emails that B of A contacted the Mint RE his account activity. Here are the emails he sent me:
“BofA contacted the mint directly & disclose my info to the Mint. This caused the Mint to shut my accounts down and some stress for our BofA wealth manager as he had to figure out WHO did it (it wasn’t the local branch who I had an agreement with).
They (BofA) seem to play a bit fast and loose with the rules…”
And then:
“Please go ahead and put BofA’s name in there if you’d like… I posted the email itself onto FT a while back.
Ultimately I had done ~ 750k so I was fine with it ending but this came about due to the fact that some dummy @ BofA broke their coin counting machine. BofA had been very good to me but I was doing whatever they wanted for me to keep the deal going (I was even opening all the coins before they were deposited and putting them into 2k bags.”
Here is another example of staying “under the radar”. In this case Chris just got revealed by accident, but I have to wonder if the results would have been the same with fewer transactions.
We are constantly playing a game of cat and mouse. Sometimes the cat wins and sometimes the mouse gets away. Getting upset when your deal comes to an end serves no purpose. Move on to the next deal. There will be another one.
Congrats on the huge number Chris. I’m really appalled that the bank would contact the Mint
but not surprised.
