Free 5000 Membership Rewards Points and Read this Link

I updated my SPG primary card (my old card was worn out and not working always) and decided to listen to Hilary’s full spiel for a change. After she rattled off the new T and C for the SPG card, she indicated I also had the Premier Rewards Card and was eligible for 5000 MR points for adding the “extended payment option”. There was no charge, no fee and the points would post in 6-8 weeks. I took the points without hesitation.

Katy got the extended payment option when she got the card (bad choice as she got no points). I canceled it on her card immediately and then called back to try and get the 5000 points for the offer. They would not put it on her card and said she declined it at the time she signed up for the card???? Hello? I just canceled it 5 minutes beforehand. Guess their computers don’t show it was actually on the card.

So now I’m on the lookout for the offer on her Premier Rewards Card, and you should be for yours as well. 5000 points for 5 minutes is a nice rate of pay. I will be calling the number on the back of her card every month or so until it appears. Or maybe it will show up on the “summary of accounts” page on the Amex website.

I originally called the activation line to get the offer so you may need to find an activation sticker or use my activation number to make the call: 1-800-362-6033.

It never hurts to ask and 5000 Membership Rewards points could be your prize. I like free points.

Assuming Chris was so inclined does he have any right to pursue legal action in this situation?

As far as I understand banks operate under fairly strict privacy restrictions so it seems like BofA might've violated some statute(s)

Disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer so I have no idea if this is correct, but it just seems wrong that BofA can do that

$750k with BofA, wow!! He should change his handle to mini mrpickles:-)

Do you know what geographic region Chris was in? Might be helpful to others using BofA to know if they are in the danger zone.

@Zack – "no privacy rules were broken" per BofA

@George – It took working with my bank branch very closely to get them to allow it. Lots more time on my part (unrolling EVERY roll) than most seemed willing to put in.

    @Anonymous – In the Southeast.

I do the coins on a very limited basis at my BofA branch – however when I do, they don't even unroll them .. I guess since it's a small local branch they remember me and know I have a long standing account with them and take my word for it that the coin rolls are legit. They just put them fully rolled into the vault and move on.

Pardon the Anonymous … The first time I went in to a w.. branch they also wore out the dollar slot on the coin counter. It was costly but they did not charge me. They now just have me bring in the unwrapped coins in 2k bags which immediately goes to the transport (Brinks and etc) truck. I also rotate banks and branches. I have volume but not anything near $750k.

750k was over a year and a half.

Does the bank ever ask where you get the coins and why you keep buying them from the mint and then depositing them?

  • Anonymous

I always feel funny doing my $1000 deposits, but they just took the coins in the wrappers and a few of them asked questions, like where did I get these? and wow, how cool these coins are! I told them my Dad gave them to me as a gift, that he thought it was cute! I also rotated branches. I need to get back into the swing of things this year and start my ordering! good thing I am in the south WEST

    Ditto about the bird!
Ya catch your 16 year old daughter sneaking off to the mall in pink tanktop and hot pants, and it's "You're not going to the mall like that, girl!" A mere 30 years later, she's takeing you to the mall for lunch. You put on your favorite flowery shirt, madras shorts, white socks and sandals; and it's "You're not going to the mall like that, Dad!"

As long as Katybug ain't throwin you outta the house, ya look just fine. ;)

First off Rick — you look like some crazed madman/pirate. #2 I think its bull$^#* to say all deals die just move on. When someone like Astro or Pickles is willing to rub a corporations nose it in — then its stupidity not jsut the nature of the beast. People have to use a little bit of common sense about the info they release. Especially if you arent the one who first discovered it. It wouldnt be yours to spoil.
