Continental Airlines Mileathon Begins Today but First: Kauai Shots

Today is the first day of the Continental Mileathon where partner activity counts towards bonus CO miles. From buying tickets to renting cars and staying in hotels, this has become an annual event for some of the airlines, and Continental does as good a job as any. We may not have the Continental debit card as a qualifying activity, but the credit card below counts for quite a few qualifying points.

Here is the link to register for Mileathon. If you collect United miles as well, these CO miles will soon become UA miles, so take advantage if you can. Qualifying activities can take place from today, February 1st, until April 30th.

Oh and the prizes are up to 100,000 Continental miles and various trips based on your status level with Continental.

Because of Lucky and flyertalk, I went ahead and sent that secure message on last Friday. I opened the Onepass credit card last October. Got great news on Sunday that I would be getting the additional 25000 points.

I went ahead and sent an email for my husband's credit card. He also opened it last October. Hopefully I will receive the same response.

Your right Richard, you shouldn't wait to long to send in your email.

The Hilton HHonors Surpass card allows you to buy Diamond status @ 40k spend in a year. $75 yearly fee – Seems well worth it.

I'm really suprised chase/continental is allowing this. Sent my secure msg a few days ago and received a positive response yesterday. 25k free miles just for asking, unbelievable.

Rick, with both SPG Amex cards, you only need 21 STAYS for their Platinum status, which is pretty darn good. Do some cheap Four Points stays on your mileage runs and it should not be terribly difficult or expensive.

As you know, SPG offers unlimited suite upgrades to their Plats at check-in, and often overseas they do it in advance depending on the property and my relationship with them. Not quite the same as the 4 guaranteed suites with Hyatt, but not a bad trade-off in my book.

I sent them an e-mail Monday, I have not received any response back, not even an automatic ackl e-mail as of Wed evening. Is this normal for chase, I have never contacted them before via secure mail. Should I send my e-mail?

I opened my Chase OnePass account way back on Sept 8, 2010 under the 25/30k promotion and received the 30k bonus for making the required purchase and adding an additional user.

Right after I saw your post on Monday, I sent a secure e-mail to Chase asking very nicely for the difference of 25,000 miles, not thinking it would work at all since it had been 145 days since my account opening. Received an automated acknowledgment immediately saying I'd see a response back within 4 hours, and then didn't hear anything for a few days.

Just this morning, I got a response back saying I've been credited with an additional 25,000 enrollment miles, and I would see the adjustment on my next billing cycle.

So thanks!

I sent a secure message about the miles and here is the response I got:

Dear Mr. Pickles,

Thank you for your inquiry. In reviewing your request, I
must advise that we are unable to honor your request for
an additional 25,000 bonus miles .

Although we appreciate your loyalty over the last several
months, our decision is not only based on the date you
established your account but also because we want to
remain fair and consistent with all of our members. In
order to accomplish fairness, we assign a time frame for
any enrollment upgrade and we believe 90 days from an
original open date is more than fair.

I apologize if you do not agree with the above, but we ask
that you please trust that our decision is the same for
all members whose accounts do not fall within this
designated time frame. We feel that adhering to the same
policy for all affected members is the best way to remain
fair and consistent.

We do thank you for your time in contacting us and thank
you for making Chase your credit card of choice. If you
have any further questions, please reply using the Secure
Message Center or by calling the number on the back of the
card.
