Day 4: catch up on anything missed or ‘nice to sees.’ If you didn’t get the Summer Palace on the Great Wall day, make sure to see it now. Overnight train to Xi’an. Stefan has us on an express overnight train where we are taking a 4 person private cabin. The great thing about this is Jenny is buying our tickets for us and we will have an empty 4th bed. The privacy costs us about $80 to get the 4th space. We were originally going to also take the overnight train from Xian to Shanghai but Stefan suggested that one train trip will be enough and the Xian to Shanghai route is about 15 hours.
Xi’an: Must-sees:
- Terracotta Soldiers
- Huashan (my special recommendation)
- Nice to see, depending on interest:
- Everything else, lots of places of middling interest
