if you have > 25K AA miles, you can do the 4:1 transfer. If you don't, you can do a roundtrip from 8 US -> 12 Greenpoints -> 1 US mile.

the pages i used to get started were gary's strategy page, brian's master guide, the 2 milepoint wiki pages and the ft sub-forum.

you can use both MR & Chase points to do hotel transfers (see Brian's page).

like anything, figure out the cost of a mile when buying it outright and then don't spend more than that to play the game.

go hit the FT sub-forum and get the spreadsheet from silverhalide. you can enter in costs and play with the numbers.

Deb & I are at 30 & 28 hits with a total cost of $150 (expense account helps .

This is such a smart promo… as you rightly point out it is just a lot of FUN chasing all the different ways to get the miles. Achieves it's purpose of highlighting all the ways you can get miles. My first time to take it seriously too (got only a few hits for 5k last year) but going for the big 100k this time round!

It seems that you either have to be all in for this or not really do it at all. The bonuses for 16 hits are decent but the big deal comes when you're at the very end.

I'd probably be doing this if I had the time, but working a lot of hours makes it harder…but the guides have some really good information which helps! Still haven't decided what I want to do here…

Hey Rick – Is there a place to see how many "hits" you have for the grand slam? Or are you just adding them up manually. Thanks!

Wait … how did you check to see how many hits you had? I spent an hour on the phone with customer service trying to find that out. Where did you look specifically?

Hits start to post on the 28th and every two weeks thereafter. I just know what I have done but they haven't posted yet.

Chappy: I agree with you. the first batch is cheap and easy but then you need to be on an expense account or it seems the hits cost you at least $25 each. No big win til the end in that case.

Mommypoints & others are making multiple Shopping Mall purchases, but I read the rules to say that no matter how many different merchants you only get one hit…am I wrong?

"Earn 1 hit when you make a qualifying purchase at the US Airways Dividend Miles Shopping Mall. Maximum (MAXIMUM) 1 hit regardless of number of merchants used at the Shopping Mall."
