You have to be careful with mistake fares too…

The deal in early September with Korean Air from the US to Seoul, South Korea, and then on to Palau (a tiny island nation) is being canceled by Korean Air.

And that's just now, two months after the fact, and just a few weeks before people are supposed to start traveling. Usually airlines just "eat" the mistake fares, but not always – buyer beware, I guess.

I got in on some Skyteam fares last spring which I believe to be mistakes. I ended up flying from Chicago to Oslo for $300, which included all taxes and fees. Loved it.

I found a great mistake fare on a weekend car rental this summer with Alamo. I think it was around $5 for 3 days including taxes and fees for a mid size car.
