Deal of the Day: 60,000 United Miles

Posted by Friday, January 06, 2012, No Comments

For anyone looking to get the Chase United Explorer card, you may be able to get a 50,000 point bonus + 10,000 after $25,000 in spend by signing-in to your United account. I was able to see the offer and I am not elite on United or Continental. Daraius over at MillionMileSecrets has also confirmed it as well.

You can get 1,500 bonus AA miles when renting from Avis for 3 or more days.

You can still get up to 105,000 bonus miles from AA for flying round-trip to Europe. Please note the required fare buckets.

TripAlertz is still giving away $5 for every person you invite. You can use my link if you need to join or one of the links in the comments.

    Shannon,

I really enjoyed your post today and will be checking these Apps out.

My two favorites right now are Webport and On the Fly.

If you are traveling extensively, it is important to have expertflyer on your mobile. Getting a bump? No problem.. search for the next available flight..weather IRROPS? no problem search for the best routes with available seats

Of course it takes some time to get used to expertflyer. But then, it is a gold mine.

    Shannon,
I didn't see travel organizors mentioned.
Two biggies are WorldMate and Tripit.
The app's keep all your travel plans in one place, organizes flights/meetings/hotels etc into an itinerary by trip. They'll even send updates on flight delays, etc.Extra things like weather forecasts to trip cities, currency converter calcultor, tip calculator, hotel finders, etc.are at your fingertips all in one place.
You can post your trip/info on Facebook, Twitter and Linked In easily with these apps. With Linked In- it even show's who you know that lives in the city you're visiting-and their info if needed. Plus you can send your trip info to anyone you choose.
It's a great way to be organized! I've been using WorldMate and like how it's available even in foreign countries when I have no phone or wifi service. Don't know the address of the hotel? Click on it-up opens all the info, address, phone number, confirmation #, how much you paid, etc. One more plus, it achives your trips so you have all flight numbers, etc available years later.

I agree with Yelp as being a great app not just for food lovers but helpful for general knowledge of finding a quick bite when needed. Tripit and FlightTracker Pro are the two apps I would never leave home with out as they are my lifeline of insurance. With these two apps I can be comfortable that my trip will go smoothly, I won’t end up in the office of my boss at Dish being given that look he’s known for. I always bring along an app for mental decompression especially for airports and that’s when I whip out my Dish Remote Access app on my iPad since it gives me access to all my programming and DVR content at home. There are so many apps to help tailor to the taste of any particular traveler it’s worth updating your mobile before your next trip.
