Long Term Planning Pays Off Bigtime

Katy and I are doing a “bucket list” trip at New Years to see the fireworks in Sydney Harbor. Andrew raved about them and the Opera performance that same New Years evening. I’ve got the award ticket experts working on getting us two business class tickets for the big show and a short term trip down under. Assuming we get our tickets, housing was the next issue.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Potts Point previously and marveled at the Sydney Bridge and Opera House views from our top floor circular suite. I’m not planning on scoring that room again but it is within walking or public transportation distance from the Opera House and at 25,000 points per night a bargain for the big event night. The quoted room rate was $450 AU per night or $1350 AU for our three night stay.
Planning ahead sure worked out for us. Do you have any big date, big event nights in your future? There may be award nights available if you plan in advance. And if they can be cancelled without penalty, all the better.
