My deal of the day would be a great open jaw-fare from Europe to Australia on China Eastern Airlines, with a free stopover in Shanghai. Many dates in November – February are available. Cheapest route seems to be FCO-PVG-MEL-PVG-CDG which starts at $900,=! Great fare to enjoy the Australian summer from cold Europe!

Pretty big catch: Excludes fares beginning with N or Q on American Airlines marketed, and Qantas Airways marketed and operated flights.
I don’t know what I did wrong, but I priced out a $15K business class ticket to Brisbane and it said it did not earn miles or qualify for the bonus. I registered for the promo and then searched the AA site. Is there something else I should have done? Needless to say, I did not purchase.

Might be a bit late…

When booking hotels, don’t forget to search for AAA/Gov’t rates (if you’re eligible). Sometimes they’re much better, sometimes they’re slightly worse.
