If your credit card annual fee is coming up, remember to call and ask for all options you have besides getting statement credit. You might be able to downgrade to a no fee card to prevent a hit on the credit score!

not exactly a deal of the day – more like a safety valve: I recently became a fan of the thank you (premire) card because it gives you access to a 15% discount on airfare through the conexions web site or phone line and a travel companion ticket that really saves you money. with two kids in college out of state, airfares north of $500 to columbus ohio, no real options on dates or alternative airports, I am dying- and blowing through mies and points- this gave me another option. joanne b, LAX
