When booking travel to europe with AA miles the BA fees/fuel charges are significantly lower going eastbound than west, so book your outbound on BA first and return on Iberia, AA or airberlin to save a bundle.

Consider beaching a member of Costco to take advantage of great car rental rates. For example a 1 week economy car rental in Lihue (Kauai for 6/13-6/20) is $114.96 all in. This compares with $157 through Expedia and/or Hotwire. You will more than recoup the $55 member fee when using the Costco on that island to make grocery purchases ($4/gal milk vs. $8/gal milk at grocery stores and 20 cent/gal gas savings.

Wherever you mileage run takes you, even interesting always interesting Istanbul, Turkey, it is always cheaper to buy your soda at a local market. Have you Burger King in Istanbul. It is a wonderful experience you can talk about for years to come. However, soak up some extra local flavor and save a few dollars by venturing into a local market to buy your soda. Every penny counts just like every mile counts!

One year of expert flyer is, so far, the best deal of the day, by commenting on your blog. However, that Puerto Vallarta Sheraton Buganvilla’s 5 night deal for $299 is pretty darn good. I have stayed here and although it is not the quality of the Westin, that deal is definitely VALUE semi LUXURY.

You snooze you lose. I was going to apply for the Citi Premier Thank You Point, Master Card AND Visa this week. Each card offering 50,000 points with $2500 spend and fee waived. Should have pulled the trigger twice last week, on that offer. The offer is gone now , with no warning.
The other card I was going to apply for sometime this week is the USAirways 40,000 mile offer , on first use, no minimum spend, and no first year fee.
I just woke up and pulled the trigger on that one . Instant approval. You snooze you lose.
