Anyone up for a road trip?

To Celebrate Hertz Being Voted “Best Overall Car Rental Company” in Zagat’s 2012/13 U.S. Car Rental Survey, Hertz has provided us with the opportunity to give away 3,000 Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points.

We’ll give these away to three winners, each at 1,000 points a piece. 1,000 points translates to 2 free weekend days or 1 free weekend day if used as an “AnyDay” rewards (no black-out dates). In addition, if you include a link to a picture with where you’d go for your weekend trip you’ll be entered to win a Zagat Guidebook.

To win, leave a comment with where you’d take your road trip and why that destination (link to a picture if you want a change to win the Zagat Guidebook too). One entry per person. The winner will be selected at random. If you don’t already have a membership you can sign up for a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Membership.

Entries may be submitted until Wednesday June 20th at 8am EDT and the winner will be announced at 12pm EDT that day.

When Sara and I were in Hawaii last year we got a 2 day weekend rental for 1,000 points which would have otherwise cost us $175. Peak season gets expensive in Hawaii … great money-saver.

I’m planning a cross-country road trip from Boston to Los Angeles (moving for a new job) with stops at some of the most scenic places in America: the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina, Fourth of July fireworks at the St. Louis Arch, and hiking in Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park.
