Using AA miles with cash to book hotel rooms can offer great savings. An example for a room at the Hyatt Andaz in NYC in August would cost around $345 a night + tax. With 1,000 AA miles and $221 you can get the same room. Better deals may also be available for limited time sales or exclusive offers at different destinations. This could be a good strategy for maximizing your miles if you are planning to purchase a hotel stay anyway.

I just got an offer in the mail for up to 30,000 AA miles for opening a Citibank checking account. Just use the debit card and spend $750 AND have 1 or more direct deposits for 2 consecutive months…. very easy
