If you have a CitiAA card make sure you check your account online for special limited time offers. Sometimes that pesky junk mail includes certain bonuses. Well just in case you tossed the mail, they will show up online, too. Recently I was targeted for 2x miles for restaurants. Certainly helps when chasing miles plus using the AA E-dining program further helped my cause. Certain restaurants in the dining program topped off at 7 miles per dollar -5miles per dollar at the restaurant through e-dining and 2 miles on the card. The one time I encourage ordering desserts.

Flyertalk is great with airfares under the mileage run discussion boards. Today there is a lot of talk for AA OAK -HNL for $296 roundtrip. Also AA PHX – HNL for $298. Go to flyertalk.com and click on the mileage run deals forum for more info. I read flyertalk daily for tips and try to learn how to earn AA miles.

There are some good partnership deals available that are worth remembering. One I’m going to use is 25,000 for Directv service.

Once you are finished with your two year contract, you could hypothetically set up new service under a roommate’s name, or spouses name. You’ll get the bonus points and a better service deal (but you’ll have to have a new 2 year contract). The only price difference I could see is you don’t seem to get a $5 off bonus per 12 months for a year. So looks like it’s a $60 tradeoff for 25,000 miles which is a great deal if you ask me.

Been watching junk mail and did get a targeted promo for 2x miles on my Citibank AA card for electronics and toy stores. Had to register first, but there does seem to be lots of varied offers being sent out. Also got a targeted offer today on USAirways MC for 15Kmiles if spend at least $750 a month in new purchases each month for the next 3 months. Interested to see what else might show up.
