Not a deal, but a big thanks to Rick. A couple years ago I started following you. I then started the long trek to repair my 15 years of unused credit and then started a slow churn of some cards. Just yesterday I booked my first class tickets to Tokyo Japan for a whopping $55.90. I can’t wait to claim seat A1 all the way to NRT. Normally the economy tickets are $2k and first would be $8k. So a dream of mine to visit Japan for two weeks will come true this May and the money I will be spending in country doesn’t seem like anything after getting there practically free.

A new window to achieving Southwest Companion Pass has opened via Carlson Rezidor Hotels ( a Southwest Air Partner). You can transfer Club Carlson points to Southwest at different levels:
2,000 points 250 miles = 8 pts per mile
50,000 points 8,000 miles = 6.25 pts per mile
100,000 points 18,000 miles = 5.55 pts per mile
Given the low cost of Carlson pts via their generous bonuses, this is a nice development.
