Thanks to several new partnerships between Vegas hotels and major hotel chains, it’s now possible to not only stay at some of the best hotels on the strip using points, but you can earn points as well. Here is a breakdown of Vegas hotels that partner with major hotel chains:
IHG Hotels – Palazzo and Venetian
Redemption levels
Both the Palazzo and Venetian can be booked for 50,000 points per night. This is a bit steep, especially if you’re transferring Ultimate Rewards points to IHG. A better option (especially if rates are under $500 per night) is to book directly through Ultimate Rewards. You’ll get 1.2 cents per point, bringing a $250 nightly rate down to around 21,000 points.
Earning Points & Status
IHG Rewards Club and Intercontinental Ambassador members can earn and redeem points at the Palazzo and Venetian, like they would at any other IHG hotel. The Vegas properties are designated “Intercontinental resorts,” so the standard 2,000 points per stay/10 points per $1 earning rate applies.
IC Ambassador members will get elite benefits, including $100 minibar credit, and a fresh fruit/mineral water amenity.
Hilton – Flamingo
Despite several Grand Vacations properties in Vegas, Hilton has the weakest partnerships, with only the Tropicana hotel. Technically it’s not even a partnership, since Tropicana is a Doubletree hotel.
Redemption levels
The Tropicana is a Category 6 property available for 30,000-50,000 points per night.
Earning Points & Status
As a Doubletree hotel, stays at the Tropicana earn standard points, depending on your earnings preference. Standard elite status earnings apply.
Hyatt – MLife
MLife is the rewards program for twelve Vegas hotels, including the esteemed Bellagio, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Vdara, and more. The two programs also offer reciprocal benefits to members of both programs.
Redemption levels
Redemptions start at 8,000 points per night at Excalibur and go u to 25,000 points for the Bellagio. Here is the complete list:
- Excalibur 8,000 Hyatt Gold Passport points
- Luxor 12,000 points
- Monte Carlo 15,000 points
- New York New York 15,000 points
- MGM Grand 20,000 points
- The Signature at MGM Grant 20,000 points
- The Mirage 20,000 points
- Vdara 20,000 points
- Aria 25,000 points
- Bellagio 25,000 points
- Mandalay Bay 25,000 Hyatt points
- Thehotel at Mandalay Bay 25,000 Hyatt points
Earning Points & Status
Hyatt Gold Passport members earn 5 points per $1 at M life resorts. In addition, Platinum and Diamond bonuses apply. At the same time, you will also earn 25 tier points per $1 with M life.
In addition to offering reciprocal status matches, Hyatt members get elite stay credit for all M life hotel stays. To get your status match, simply opt in online.
- Hyatt Member – M life Sapphire
- Hyatt Platinum – M life Gold
- Hyatt Diamond – M life Platinum
Marriott – Cosmopolitan
Marriott’s arrangement with the Cosmopolitan is similar to IHG’s deal with the Palazzo and Venetian.
Redemption levels
The Cosmopolitan is a Category 8 Marriott Autograph Collection hotel. It can be booked for 35,000-40,000 points per night. Members of Cosmopolitan’s Identity program can redeem their points at Marriott hotels worldwide. Marriott’s 5th night free applies to stays at the Cosmopolitan.
Earning Points & Status
Guests earn 10 points per $1 like they would at any Autograph Collection property. The Cosmopolitan offers several benefits to Marriott Platinum members, including VIP check-in, room upgrades upon availability, late check-out, and a welcome amenity of 500 Marriott points or a $10 dining credit.
Starwood Preferred Guest – Caesar’s Entertainment Hotels
The partnership between Starwood and Caesar’s Entertainment offers some of the lowest point redemption levels. Rates seem to be dependent on days of the week, but here are typical mid-week redemption rates:
Redemption levels
- Flamingo Las Vegas 4,500 Starpoints
- The Quad Resort & Casino 4,500 points
- Harrah’s Las Vegas 7,000 points
- Planet Hollywood 7,000 points
- Bally’s Las Vegas 9,500 points
- Paris Las Vegas 9,500 points
- Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino 12,500 points
- Caesar’s Palace 15,500 points
- Nobu Hotel 15,500 points
Earning Points & Status
Starwood Preferred Guest members earn 2 points per $1 spent at Caesar’s Entertinment hotels, including Caesar’s Palace, Baley’s, Paris, and Flamingo. These points are in addition to points earned through Total Rewards.
Starwood members can earn up to 10 elite night credits per calendar year on paid and award stays.
