My wife and I are massive Dave Matthews Band fans. Every year, tens of thousands of people flock to the Gorge Amphitheater outside of Seattle, WA to see them play a 3-night stand. It’s the Mecca for any DMB fan. She and I have dreamed of this for many years but have never been able to go, as it’s quite cost prohibitive…. until I discovered FrugalTravelGuy.

My wife and I will be flying to Seattle 2 days before the 3-night concert where we will take in the sights. We are flying there on Southwest Airlines, using points transferred from Ultimate Rewards. The 50,000 point bonus covered every bit of it! We will spend 2 nights in Seattle staying on points earned from the AMEX Honors card. We will have a rental car paid for by the Capital One Venture Rewards card which we can use to explore the city. After 2 nights in Seattle, we will drive to The Gorge, where we have a hotel booked again with Honors points.

Grand total for the trip? $22 for the Southwest flight, food, and the cost of concert tickets (which I’m hoping to get Capital One to purchase erase).
