We’ve all got our favorite travel spots, right? Our favorite countries to visit? Our favorite restaurants? Our favorite hotels? I certainly do, and I seem to add a few more countries and hotels to the list with every passing year.
Actually, this is why my husband says I am the worst travel writer who ever lived. No matter where we go, I always have a blast and find something positive to say. I’m not nearly discerning enough, he says, and far too easy to please. But whatever, I’m just out for a good time! Sue me, mmmkay?
My Favorite Hotels You Can Book with Points of All Time
Anyway, I actually do have a bunch of favorite hotels – specifically hotels you can book with points. I love to travel, but don’t generally like paying for it. That’s why most of my favorites are really, really nice hotels I paid almost nothing to stay at. While I can think of at least ten I have loved over the years, here are my top four favorites:
Park Hyatt Vendome, Paris
A travel blogger who stayed at the Park Hyatt Vendome? Say it isn’t so. Regardless of how predictable this is, I really did love our two-night stay at the Park Hyatt Vendome in Paris. Not only was our room uber-posh, but we were in one of my favorite areas of Paris. We also got the free breakfast, which was oh-so-amazing (and would have cost $129 for two people had we paid). If you’re in Paris and wanting a high-end place to stay, you can’t do any better. Pick up the Hyatt credit card for two free nights and you’ll be on your way in no time.

El Conquistador Resort, Puerto Rico
My love for the El Conquistador Resort is practically undying. I can’t get over the view (amazing), the food (plan on gaining 5 pounds), and the private island where hunky men walk around serving Palomino Adventures, the resort’s famous drink. This property is huge and almost like a city in itself, but I love it nonetheless. If you want to stay here, you can do so with rewards earned with the Citi Hilton Honors Reserve card or the Citi Hilton Honors Visa Signature card.

Westin Grand Cayman Resort & Spa
Westin Grand Cayman Resort & Spa sits on what I feel is the most beautiful beach scene on Earth, Seven Mile Beach. The sand is a soft, white powder. The water is like glass, with few waves rolling in. If you love paying $20 for a salad, you’ll love their food, too (kidding, eat somewhere else). Still, this is an awesome resort you can book with points you earn with the Starwood Preferred Guest Card from American Express. Just remember, this property does charge a $40 per day resort fee.
Holiday Inn Resort Jamaica
For the third year in a row, we’re heading to the Holiday Inn Resort Jamaica for Spring Break. Just 15 minutes from the airport, this property is perfect for families with young kids. The food is pretty decent, and the beach is super nice. They also have a few huge pools, and plenty of on-site activities and entertainment. I’m pretty excited about our 2017 trip especially because we’re going with friends who have never been to an all-inclusive resort before. How awesome will that be? Anyway, my favorite thing about this property is that you can book it for free with points from the IHG Rewards Select credit card.

Final Thoughts
Hotel credit cards make it easy to earn free nights at some pretty epic hotels. Which hotels you can book depends on the cards you get and your travel preferences. Personally, I like a little bit of everything – a beach vacay here, an upscale posh trip here, and even a few all-inclusives now and then. As the world’s worst travel writer (according to my snarky husband), I reserve the right to have fun no matter where I go.
