Singapore KrisFlyer miles are a great rewards currency. Not only can you make good use of their award chart for some great sweet spot redemptions, but they offer one of the best in-flight experiences of any airline. The best part? Singapore KrisFlyer Miles are incredibly easy to earn. Here are 6 ways you can earn more Singapore KrisFlyer Miles:
Credit Cards
While Singapore Airlines doesn’t have a co-branded credit card for US residents, they do partner with just about every single flexible rewards partner. This includes Membership Rewards, Ultimate Rewards, Citi ThankYou, Starwood Preferred Guest. All of these currencies transfer to Singapore Krisflyer miles at a 1:1 ratio. Starwood transfers get you an extra 5,000 points for every 20,000 transferred. The Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express is definitely a solid option if you want to earn lots of Singapore Krisflyer miles from non-categorized spending.
In terms of credit card sign-up bonuses that will earn you lots of Singapore Krisflyer miles, there are a couple of great options right now. The best publicly available offer is the Chase Ink Business Preferred Card (see the most current offer here). Another way to give your Krisflyer miles account a boost is to look out for a 100,000 point offer from the Platinum Card from American Express as well as the business version of the card.
Just make sure you’re signed up to receive promotional offers from American Express. Also, keep in mind that if you’ve received a sign-up bonus from either card before, you will not be able to qualify for another one.

Pay for Flights
Earning miles by flying Singapore Airlines is always an option. Singapore occasionally runs some great fares deals, providing even more incentive to fly with them. Since Singapore Airlines is part of the Star Alliance, you can also choose to credit miles flown with a partner airline to the Krisflyer program.
Book Hotels
Singapore Airline partners with several different hotel rewards programs, enabling members to earn miles instead of points. The best option may be Hilton Honors, which lets members earn 5 – 10 Hilton Honors points and 1 mile per $1 spent on hotel bookings.
Another viable option is Agoda PointsMax. I’ve researched this feature and found several instances where the Agoda PointsMax rate was lower than the regular rate. This is definitely worth checking out if you want to earn more Singapore Krisflyer miles.
Subscribe to Magazines
Singapore partners with many different magazines to provide Krisflyer members an opportunity to earn miles on their magazine subscriptions. If you’re thinking of picking up a Time or Fortune magazine subscription, you can earn up to 1,000 KrisFlyer miles. Be sure to compare these rewards with those offered by other frequent flyer programs, to make sure you’re getting the best deal possible.
Shopping Portal
Singapore Krisflyer has its own Krisflyer Spree shopping portal, offering up to 70 miles per $1 spent on popular online merchants. I was pleasantly surprised by how generous the payouts were. It’s important to note that some of the merchant partnerships are between non-US based websites (i.e. Groupon Singapore, HP Malaysia). However, if you find yourself in Singapore and looking for a great deal on dining and activities, you’ll be pleased to know you can earn 46 Singapore Krisflyer miles per $10 spent on Groupon.
Rent a Car
The next time you’re in the market for a rental car, you can earn hundreds of miles by doing it through Singapore KrisFlyer. Participating rental car partners include the following:
- Avis: Up to 500 KrisFlyer miles
- Europcar: Up to 500 KrisFlyer miles
- Hertz: Up to 500 KrisFlyer miles
- SIXT rent a car: Up to 500 KrisFlyer miles for car rentals, up to 1,000 KrisFlyer miles for chauffeur service.
- com: 1.5 KrisFlyer miles per $1 spent
When booking a rental car through an airline partner, it’s important to check the rates against those offered on the company’s website. You don’t want to pay extra for your rental car just to earn a few hundred Singapore KrisFlyer miles.
Follow these tips and you’ll end up with a nice stash of Singapore KrisFlyer that you can put to great use.
