As one of the original and world’s largest low-cost airlines, Southwest Rapid has a lot to offer travelers looking for a good deal. It’s also among a handful of US carriers not in a partnership with other airlines, so it may seem like a potential challenge to quickly collect Southwest Rapid Rewards. Luckily the airline offers lots of ways to help collectors amass points and get ever closer to their dream vacation. Here are some ways to rapidly earn more rewards.
Join Rapid Rewards Dining
We all need to eat, right? Make the most of your dining by signing up with the Rapid Rewards Dining program. It gives you 3 points per $1 spent at participating restaurants, bars and clubs (if you also sign up for email notifications). If you choose not to sign up for email notifications, you get 2 points per $1. Currently, bonus offers include 500 points the first time you earn 1,500 points for dining. You also get a “thank you” bonus of 300 points once you reach your first 1,000 dining points. Every time you write a review you get an additional 10 points.
Rapid Rewards Shopping
Do your shopping via the Rapid Rewards Shopping Portal. Members can earn anywhere from 0.5 to 15 points per dollar you spend at a variety of popular merchants like Nordstrom, Staples and Target, to name just a few. There are also frequent bonus offers available that hike your earning potential even higher. For example, presently, just in time for tax season, the shopping portal is offering a bonus of 1,000 points when you file your taxes with TurboTax.
Rent a Car
Southwest Rapid Rewards has partnered with major car rental companies like Avis, Budget, Hertz and more. Cardholders will get 600 reward points when they rent a car from a participating company and there are also frequent bonus offers available.
Stay at Partner Hotels
Southwest has also partnered with a number of major hotel brands, such as Best Western, Hyatt and Marriott. When you book a stay at any affiliated hotel you will get a bonus of 600 points.
If you book your stay via Rocketmiles.com you can net yourself an extra 1,000 to 10,000 points. As with car rentals, there are also ever-changing promotional offers that can increase your point-earning capacity substantially.
